Pumpkin Head

This is a short post but I did want to share one of the things that I have worked on in the past few weeks. I picked up the October 2013 issue of American Patchwork and Quilting because of the article featuring Tula Pink….Love her! But I also really liked the Wacky Jack quilt featured on the cover by Tonya Alexander. While I had no desire or need to make a full quilt, I did like the one big block with the pumpkin and I opted to make this into a wall hanging. I chose some fun Halloween fabric for the backing and background but used some orange fat quarters and jelly roll strips to form the face. I am pleased with the final product and it was a fun project. I suspect that I will be making a few more of these as they go together fairly quickly. See what you think:

I used some Trick or Treat ribbon on the top to create the loops to hang the panel from and it coordinates with the glittery bats and witches background. What a fun way to get into the haunting spirit!

There is a optional colorway featured on the APQ website and it is pretty darn cute too. Hope this gets you into a creative mood!
