You may have noticed…..or perhaps you didn’t……that I didn’t post anything last week. The last few weeks of the year are always busy and frantic but I also had a minor medical procedure that slowed me down. Not for long tho. My dear sister came to help me for a few days and we were creative and clever little cooks while she was here. But every now and again, you just have to take a break.
I generally consider myself a wine drinker but every now and again I like to switch things up. At “breaktime” I shared my cocktail recipe with my sis and she approved. Now I will share it with you.
Several months ago a friend brought me a bottle of cake flavored vodka and while I liked it, I preferred not to drink it straight. But what to mix it with? I wasn’t really interested in making martinis with it, so I considered ginger ale. Not just any ginger ale. Good stuff….premium, high quality aged ale. Here is my recipe for B’s Birthday Cake libation in a glass.
I pour drinks like I cook….a bit of this and a bit of that, so please adjust to your taste.
Fill a highball glass with cubed ice
Pour in two ounces of cake flavored vodka, your choice of brand
Top off glass with ginger ale
If you feel extra special, throw in a few marachino cherries or a couple of cake sprinkles
Drink like it’s your birthday!
The happiest of New Year’s to all my friends and blog readers. I have some really great things planned for 2014, so stay tuned!
Cheers to you sweet sister!!
You make having a sister a fabulous thing!!
and I must say that you do mix a great drink!
